- Happy Birthday Small Crew Productions! SCP turned 11 on Sunday November 1, 2009!!!

- The SCP Magazine is now on sale. The Fifth edition will be released Monday March 2, 2009. The magazine includes celebrity interviews, updates on current projects, a top 5 film list, a film review and more. The previous editions are still available for purchase as well.

- "20 Something Summer" is now in pre production. We are in talks for studio space in the Durham Region and Toronto. Keep checking back for more details on the project.

- Small Crew Productions will be eliminating 2 e-mail accounts. filmvolunteer@hotmail.com will be deleted in July and canadiancasting@hotmail.com will be deleted in September. A new account will be created for our HR department in the coming months.

-"Holiday Hideaway" is now in post production. A trailer will be cut together shortly. We are in talks with 5 distributors and are also considering the self distribution route. We are also in talks with Independent Booking/Slide Screen Entertainment to get the film into Rainbow Cinemas/Magic Lantern Theatres.
We are in talks with Wal-Mart, Zellers, Rogers Plus, Blockbuster and Indiepool for self distributing the DVD.
Picture editing has fallen behind schedule a bit. The post production schedule will be juggled around in order to meet our new release date of August 14th.

-"Ghost Story" is now filming. We will be wrapping up production on the documentary in March and April and will then take the project into post production.

- "Strange" is getting ready to go into the last stages of post production. Keep checking back for more details on the project.

- Yours To Discover has shot the pilot episode in Kingston. The shoot went well and the episode is going into post production. We will then pitch YTD to the networks in February. Keep checking back for more details!

Biography

Curtis Cooknell was born in Edmonton Alberta Canada, July 28, 1984. He knew he wanted to be a part of the film and television industry since he was five. Curtis was raised in Edmonton Alberta, Pefferlaw, Markham, Ajax and Oshawa Ontario. In 1998, Curtis got his first video camera. At the age of 14, he directed "A Snowy December". Curtis' filmography has grown over the years. Curtis' television experience began when he started out as a volunteer at Rogers Television in Durham Region. He has worked on many shows doing a variety of tasks from being a camera operator, to doing audio, graphics and even teleprompter. When Curtis isn't busy working on a project, he enjoys spending time with his friends, family and his girlfriend Ashley, and his dog Asia.

Small Crew Productions was formed November 1, 1998 by Curtis Cooknell. The production company got it's name by the small crew it had. SCP produces feature films, short films, music videos and documentaries. We also do videography work for weddings, bar mitzvahs, birthdays, etc. SCP is known for it's film festival and awards ceremony. The SCP Film Festival takes place every March. We accept enteries from upcoming filmmakers who are looking for an audience for their films. All films which are screened at the festival are nominated for an SCP Award.
